Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone
benefit from
Reiki?
Yes. Everyone can benefit from reiki
because reiki doesn’t address symptoms or diseases; it simply
balances your system. Reiki may benefit individuals from a wide
range of medical conditions, as well as people who are healthy
and want to stay that way.
Is Reiki a
substitute for medical
treatment?
No, and it is never considered to be a
cure. Reiki complements conventional
medical care.
Will reiki treatment interfere with
medications or other conventional treatments such as
chemotherapy or radiation?
Reiki has no known medication contraindications and safely
supports any medical intervention without interference because
reiki operates at a very subtle level. Reiki does not
attack disease; it balances the person experiencing the
disease. When an invasive medical intervention is
necessary such as surgery or medications that have side
effects, reiki assists the body rebalance so that it may mend
more efficiently.
Individuals using reiki during chemotherapy, for example,
report lighter and few side effects of treatment and greater
emotional equilibrium than when they received chemotherapy
without reiki. No one is stating that reiki cures any
serious illness or disease but there is much anecdotal evidence
that people can ease their body’s distress and strengthen their
well-being with reiki treatments. Reiki may minimize the
trauma of surgery without interfering with it just as it
minimizes the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy;
thereby possibly enhancing their effectiveness. It has
been noted that surgeons have commented on the speed of
recovery of patients using reiki before, during, or
post-surgery.
Is Reiki a
religion?
No. Reiki is not a religion nor is it
based on the acceptance of any religious doctrine. Reiki works
whether you believe it or not. Reiki is available to anyone and
is for everyone.
